Feedback on Skyradio

Hi! I received a great question from a member of our fellowship about this interview, and I wanted to post both the question and my response for those of you who might have had similar thoughts. I hope you find the exchange helpful!
Pastor Lloyd, I have learned so much and grown by leaps and bounds since joining the fellowship of Calvary Chapels. I am getting sound teaching and have a "home" and a new family. My life in Christ has come alive and I am so grateful. Because of the discernment God has blessed me with, listening to your radio interview grieved my heart. By no means am I judging, I have great respect for you. But, Pastor you never once mentioned Jesus. Were you censored? If not why did you leave Him out? If you were, why did you agree to it? Giving God all the glory in the missions He calls us to is what we are here for. Even your testimony, "...I was effected greatly by one individual...who had a profound impact on me in the Big Brother..." I know by your love for Christ that it was He who "profoundly impacted" you. I will never know what comes along with the call God has on your life, your responsibility is great. What I do know is, that interview did not even sound like you. I pray you would appreciate my concerns. And I pray that you know it is spoken in love with the heart of a sister in Christ.
My response:
They did edit the interview and yet I had to make the final determination to allow it or not. I reluctantly agreed hoping that at least it would perhaps open up some dialog in the future, or just the name of the church, Calvary Chapel being mentioned might encourage a businessperson to remember and think˜ Hey I remember that name and it seemed pretty cool of them to help people˜ I think I remember one in my town, and will check it out...
Yes it did sound rather corporate in the end and I could have gone either way with this.
By far this is not my main calling but a subset of a subset and I don't mind casting some bread on the water.. Much like my witness at the gym for 12 years. I have been in it for the long haul and have not been overly aggressive.
Just now seeing some fruit with the gym guys after over a decade.
There are times when plain conversations come up but not every week and in this instance with skyradio, well, only could take the conversation as far as they would allow it.
In some sense as you look at Jesus with the woman at the well.. He slowly built a bridge but she was the one who determined how far the conversation would go... As she kept up the dialog.. He revealed more. To the rich young ruler.. He did not reveal as much as the conversation was ended sadly by the rich young ruler walking away.
You can be sure that the interviewer heard much more than they were willing to air as I am not shy about who my Lord is. In fact I was able to talk with her about her beliefs and opened a dialog with her because her son goes to a Calvary and she was very touched but hands tied in regard to what they finally aired.
A Christian athlete may not mention Jesus name at every interview and looking at it from one angle it could look like they are ashamed to do so until one realizes they have long term relationships with lots of other athletes and media and sometimes less is more. I have certainly learned that with ministering to my family and friends at times.
At any rate - I do appreciate your feedback, and hope you can hear my heart in this.
